Alex Rodriguez Hits Sixth Homerun in Another Yankees Win

by @ 2:39 am. Filed under 2007 Season

The Yankees kicked around the Twins again and once again, it was Alex Rodriguez who led the way.  He hit his sixth homerun of the season and he drove in two more to bring his season total up to 15.  Johnny Damon drove in three runs and also homered while Derek Jeter scored three times in the 10-1 win.

Even better, the Yankees got another good outing from their starter.  Andy Pettitte threw six shutout innings to pick up the win and Mariano Rivera pitched another scoreless ninth.

Mike Mussina gets the start tonight as the Yanks go for the sweep.  They’re now in a three way tie for first with the usual suspects (Jays, Red Sox).  It sure would be nice for New York to seperate themselves from that pack.
