Phil Hughes Hit Hard in Debut

by @ 6:40 pm. Filed under 2007 Season

Welcome to the show kid.  Phil Hughes took it on the chin today and lost his first career start to the Blue Jays.  He gave up four runs on seven hits and a walk with five strikeouts in 4 1/3 innings.

Oh yeah, the awesome Yankee offense was shutout on four hits too.  Jason Giambi had two of those hits and Derek Jeter was out after getting beaned last night.  Hideki Matsui walked three times.

So not a lot to talk about, considering it’s the Yankees sixth straight loss.  This is really starting to piss me off and you wonder how long it’ll be until the Boss speaks out.  Hopefully he doesn’t wait too long.

And this weekend it’s three against Boston.  This would be the time to turn things around.
