A Biased Look at the New York Yankees, the Greatest Franchise in the History of Sports

I’ve said this quite often, but I hate playing in the shit box. Most of the time, bad things happen there. Yeah, I know there was the five game sweep last year, but if you play out that series 99 more times, in none of them do you get a five game sweep in Boston. Anyway, today’s loss was just a beatdown. No ninth inning heroics by anyone. The Red Sox just outpunched us.
Jeff Karstens was really pummelled. He gave up all seven runs on nine hits and two walks in 4 1/3 innings. The pen threw pretty well from there but the deficit was just a touch too much as the Yankees could only pull it to 7-5.
Derek Jeter had two hits and two runs while Alex Rodriguez racked up two more hits and one more RBI. The loss pushed the Yankees back to .500 at 8-8 and we now trail the Red Sox by three games. Hardly insurmountable especially this early but tomorrow’s game is a pretty big one. And it’s a battle of rookies as Dice-K will throw against Chase Wright. Hopefully this Wright kid can get it going and pull this one out and the Yanks can pound Dice-K in the process. The over/under for homeruns by A-Rod is two.
